CAROLYN FAY LONG HICKERSON WITHERINGTON

Mrs. Carolyn Fay Long Hickerson Witherington, 79, of Linden, died Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Perry County Nursing Home. A funeral service was held Saturday, August 26, 2023, 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Young Funeral Home. Burial was at Dr. O.A. Kirk Memorial Cemetery. She was born in Lobelville, the daughter of the late James William “Bill” Long and Lathel Marchbanks Long. She was a graduate of Lobelville High School, Class of 1962. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Witherington; a son, Jason Hickerson; a daughter, Vickey Johnson; and sisters, Milldred Long and Ruth B. Myatt. Survivors include her children, Andrea (Roy) Berry of Augusta, Georgia, Rickey (Jenny) Hickerson of Lobelville, Timothy (Sonia) Witherington of Bolivar, and Steven Witherington of Savannah; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Marie Ward of Linden, and Juanita Walker of Bellevue.
