Mr. Paul DeWayne Carroll, 87, of Linden, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his residence. A graveside service was held Saturday, August 19, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at Roberts Cemetery. Young Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He was born in Linden, the son of the late Charlie Franklin Carroll and Gussie Mae Turner Carroll. He was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Korea, and remained in the reserves until 1964. Paul was a retired construction worker, having last worked for Ward Construction Company, and a farmer. He was a member of Whitwell Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Ward Carroll; a great granddaughter, Jo Anna Smith; a sister, Charlie Faye Tiller; and brothers, Clovis and Kyle Carroll. Survivors include his children, Rhonda (Tom Edd) Young of Parsons, Steve Carroll of Goodlettsville, and Jimmy Carroll of Linden; two grandchildren, Thomas Matthew (Ashley Smith) Young of Parsons and Chloe Carroll of Hohenwald; and two great grandchildren, Brycen McCullum of Lexington and Harper Young of Parsons.
