‘Texas Drifter’ & Local Woman Charged in Duncan’s Ace Hardware Burglary

A man described by Sheriff Nick Weems as a “Texas drifter”—and who is wanted in the Lone Star State and New Mexico—has been charged with burglary, theft of property, and vandalism in the March 11 early-morning break-in at Duncan’s Ace Hardware in Linden.

While Sheriff Weems did not go into detail about how Jeremiah Callahan, 43, was developed as a suspect, he credited investigators with “persistence, great teamwork, and good old-fashioned police work that paid off.”
