Health Council’s $500,000 Grant Will Build Youth Services Hub at Azbill

The Perry County Health Council received an early Christmas gift in the form of a $500,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to transform an unused space at Azbill Community Center into a Perry County Youth Services Hub providing mental health and other services to children.

The award was part of $1.8 million in grants announced by TDH to seven counties. In fact, Perry County got the lion’s share—the only amount that reached a half million.

All seven grants are in support of locally-designed community health projects focused on improving long-term outcomes in physical health, mental health, and substance misuse.
