NEW INITIATIVE ENCOURAGES PHYSICAL ACTIVITY THIS SUMMER

JENNY SMITH

UT Extension Agent, Perry County

What better way to start off Summer than to “Walk Across Tennessee”?

This free program, based on the honor system, is designed to help challenge you to take in as much physical activity as you can.

The challenge allows you to pick a team of four individuals to work together and cover the most miles in a six-week period.

And, of course, there’s always prizes—great prizes, I will add—to the individuals and teams getting those miles in

Pick friends, co-workers, or family members to help you put together a team of four and try to walk 500 miles, roughly the distance across the Volunteer State, or more.

Call me at 931-589-2331 for more information or to register by June 18. The walking begins June 21 and ends August 2.
