The Perry County Soil Conservation District announces their tenth annual tree giveaway, beginning today, Wednesday, March 3, and ending Friday, March 26.
Four species are available this year: Bald Cypress, Cherrybark Oak, White Ash, and Loblolly Pine. The limit is 10 trees per participant, and trees will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
Trees may be picked up on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Planting trees is a great opportunity to return a little beauty to Perry County for future generations. Planting a tree betters the environment, creates more homes for wildlife, and cuts down on erosion.
The Perry County SCD office is located in the office complex with Dr. King’s Optometry, next door to KM Market, at 316 West Main Street, Linden. For more info, call 931-589-2615.
